Rev. Daven Oskvig

Rev. Daven Oskvig spent his early years in Texas, Missouri, and New York, graduating from Pittsford Mendon High School near Rochester, NY.  He is a graduate of Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA, studied at Princeton Theological Seminary, graduated from Boston University School of Theology and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sociology at UB. He was ordained elder in the United Methodist Church in June of 2006.  Prior to his appointment at Christ Church, he served congregations in Niagara Falls, Lancaster, Elma, and Kenmore.

Rev. Oskvig’s family includes his wife, Lianne, and their daughter, Amelia.  Lianne is an elementary school teacher in Lancaster.  Rev. Oskvig is an adjunct professor at Canisius College and is an ultra runner who runs marathons to warm up for the real races!  You may have seen him on his runs through the neighborhoods of Amherst.  Rev. Oskvig is looking forward to serving with the staff and congregation at Christ Church, a community center for faith and service.
